Zé Roberto is named a global ambassador by Betsson
Zé Roberto, who played more than 80 times for Brazil's national team, has agreed to a three-year deal with all of the Betsson Group's brands.
The former athlete continues to be a hero and a role model for the fans, the firm said in a statement. His love of Brazil and sports contributes to the cooperation with Betsson's synergy.
Through a video titled "Multiverse of Zé Roberto," the former football player last week revealed himself as Betsson's newest odds coach.
The collaboration includes social media posts, in-person events including photo sessions and meet-and-greets with fans, licencing of worldwide player picture use for all Betsson Group businesses, and the title of "Brand Ambassador."
The commercial director for Southern Europe and Latin America at the Betsson Group, Andrea Rossi, stated that "Zé Roberto is the best strategic partner we could think of to represent and increase the notoriety of our brand in Brazil."
In addition, because of Zé Roberto's fame across the world, we secured a multi-brand deal that enables the Betsson Group to exploit Zé Roberto's reputation to promote our brands internationally.
Zé Roberto, who retired in 2017 at the age of 43, played for German teams Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen as well as the Brazilian national team, winning two Copa America championships and two FIFA Confederations Cups. In addition to a number of other clubs throughout the world, he also played for Real Madrid in Spain.
